christmas all wrapped up with i dream of cupcakes

jingle bells are ringing ... only 36 sleeps until christmas

i have to say that christmas is my most favourite time of year. i love decorating the tree with my beautiful children and husband, love the smell of christmas cakes and puddings baking, there is a certain scent in the air that is crisp and clean, the children counting down until santa arrives, carols, beautiful moments with family and friends - what is not to love ...

This year we are making our specialty Christmas cakes and puddings again. They make perfect little gifts, especially the small puddings. All cakes and puddings are thick with drunk fruits including figs, currants, raisins, sultanas, fresh cherries and prunes (with a few other secret ingredients). Our puddings are boiled for 8 hours and cakes baked for up to 5 hours. The aromas are a sweet reminder of Grandma's christmas cakes and puddings and the flavors are scrumptious. All cakes and puddings come gift boxed/wrapped, tied with ribbon with gorgeous gift tags.
If it's is gorgeous and unique gift cards, christmas cards you are looking for then have a look at our range from Belles & Whiselles and Paper Eskimo. Simply stunning ...

what have we been up to in the past three months!

We have been very slack on the updates for the past few months. Wow what a hectic and thrilling past few months... so much news so little time. What's news at i dream of cupcakes? Here it is in a nutshell ...

Septembers highlight was an amazing wedding of my beautiful sister and now fabulous brother-in-law. I was honoured to be apart of their bridal party and also make their wedding cakes. They chose a stunning arrangement of black and white themed chocolate mud cupcakes. Each cake was iced lovingly with a swiss meringue frosting topped with black feathers. Cupcakes were wrapped in divine white cupcake wrappers which we love. It was truly a magical and beautiful day and the cakes were pretty good too ....

October came and went in a flash! We were so happy to be a part of another gorgeous wedding. This time is was vintage theme. This time the feature was feathers and pearls and more cupcake wrappers. Take a look ... to see more pictures visit our idreamofcupcakes.com.au.

Thank you to Trudie and Shaun for choosing i dream of cupcakes to create your wedding cakes it was our pleasure and we love love love the vintage theme.

A few of our other little creations ... but for the whole range visit idreamofcupcakes.com.au.

Life without technology - what a thought!

In the midst of a full and fast paced life we probably never really know how much we rely on technology until those that we rely on so much decide that they are no longer for this world. Our trusted and faithful desktop yesterday took what we thought was its last breath and then amongst the chaos that ensued was that very frightening thought - what about my database, email contacts, favourite websites, emails, order schedule and the treasured photographs - the list just gets longer! So we called Stewart at Cobalt Visuals in Mullumbimby to assist in the very minuscule possibility that he may be able to revive our friend. At 6.30pm the long awaited knock at the door - hard drive in hand. Amazing it lives! Celebrations for Stewart and his team - beer and the promise of cupcakes!

13, 40, 50 and 60

This weekend at i dream of cupcakes was spent enjoying our eldest beautiful girl turn 13, it was so delightful to watch her enjoy an evening with family and love just being herself. The next day was spent at the Byron at Byron for spa treatments for the birthday girl and a girly lunch (of course dressed in Tluxe from Swanky and Swish my absolute favourite!!) with all the special girls/women in her life. It was one of those weekends when you just pinch yourself and think how wonderful things really are ...

In between the funtime of now having a teenager in the house we created beautiful cupcakes for a 40th, 50th and 60th ... today was spent recouping and we'll start again tomorrow.

(40 is the new 30)

Until next time
